“His causeless mercy”

– Srila Prabhupada quoted by Indradyumna Swami

“At his first sight of me my spiritual master also saw me with such love. It was in my very first darsan of him that I learned how to love. It is his boundless mercy that he has engaged an unworthy person like me, in fulfilling some of his desires. It is his causeless mercy to engage me in preaching the message of Sri Rupa and Sri Raghunatha.”

Real or symbolic – Lecture excerpt quoted by Indradyumna Swami

Real or symbolic – Lecture excerpt quoted by Indradyumna Swami

Devotee: “It says in the scriptures that Lord Brahma rides on a swan. Do we take this to mean it’s a real swan, or is it symbolic?”

Prabhupada: “Not symbolic, it is fact. Why do you say symbolic?”

Devotee: “Because it’s rather unusual.”

Prabhupada: “Unusual? What experience have you got? (laughter) You have no experience. Have you got experience of other planetary systems, what is there? Your experience is very tiny. So you should not calculate Brahma’s life and other things by your tiny experience.”

Rishiya, the land of the rishis – Anecdote by Indradyumna Swami

Rishiya, the land of the rishis – Anecdote by Indradyumna Swami

“Srila Prabhupada once told Govinda dasi that formerly in Vedic times the land of Russia was known as ‘Rishiya’—the land of the rishis. The area of Russia was populated by many yogis and sadhus who went to the mountains of the Himalayas and beyond to perform penances and austerities in the frozen terrain, far from the hubbub of worldly life. Srila Prabhupada told Govinda dasi that the descendants of those rishis who live in Russia now have the sukriti to easily take to Krishna consciousness. Such an amazing statement was never more evident than at the recent Russian Yatra festival where over 5000 Russian devotees come together for a week of chanting, dancing, Krsna katha and prasadam. How pleased Srila Prabhupada must be!”

“Working according to his direction” – Srila Prabhupada Letter Quoted by Indradyumna Swami

“Please accept my blessings. I am just in receipt of your letter forwarded from New York. Please be happy in separation. I am separated from my Guru Maharaja since 1936 but I am always with him so long I work according to his direction. So we should all work together for satisfying Lord Krishna and in that way the feelings of separation will transform into transcendental bliss.”

“He’ll do the needful” – Srila Prabhupada Anecdote Quoted by Indradyumna Swami

“He’ll do the needful” – Srila Prabhupada Anecdote Quoted by Indradyumna Swami

“In my horoscope there was written there, ‘After seventieth year this man will go outside India and establish so many temples.’ I could not understand. ‘What is this, that I have to go outside India? That is not…’ And Guru Maharaja foretold. He told my Godbrothers, Sridhara Maharaja and other that, ‘He’ll do the needful when time comes. Nobody requires to help him.’ He told in 1935. And after all, this was true. Guru Maharaja told. And in the beginning, first sight, he told, ‘You have to do this.'”

Relieved from material contamination – Excerpt from Krsna Book Quoted by Indradyumna Swami

“In the Second Canto of Srimad-Bhagavatam, Maharaja Pariksit also explains that the pastimes and activities of Lord Krsna are medicine for the conditioned souls. If they simply hear about Krsna they become relieved from the material disease…. by hearing these transcendental pastimes of Krsna with the gopis, they will be relieved from material contamination.”

Krsna is the Master – Lecture Excerpt Quoted by Indradyumna Swami

“You cannot ask Krsna, ‘Please come here. I’ll see You,’ just like you ask your dog or your servant. Krsna is nobody’s servant. Krsna is the master. He may like you, He may not like you.”

Preaching Krsna consciousness – Srimad Bhagavatam Purport quoted by Indradyumna Swami

Gita

On preaching Krsna consciousness – Srimad Bhagavatam Purport by Indradyumna Swami

Srila Prabhupada writes: “The Krsna consciousness movement is spreading all over the world simply by describing Krsna. We have published many books, including Sri Caitanya-caritamrta in seventeen volumes, four hundred pages each, as well as Bhagavad-gita and The Nectar of Devotion. We are also publishing Srimad-Bhagavatam in sixty volumes. Wherever a speaker holds discourses from these books and an audience hears him, this will create a good and auspicious situation. Therefore the preaching of Krsna consciousness must be done very carefully by the members of the Krsna consciousness movement, especially the sannyasis. This will create an auspicious atmosphere.”
