Catching up in Carpinteria – Indradyumna Swami Nectar

For the past couple of weeks, His Holiness Indradyumna Swami has been visiting His Holiness Giriraja Swami, in Carpinteria, where he will remain for awhile longer.

While in Carpinteria, Indradyumna Swami continues in his planning for both his upcoming Polish tour, as well as for the Fall Kartik Parikrama program.

In one Facebook post, he wrote:

Dear disciples, friends and well wishers: We are now officially opening registration for our month-long Kartika parikrama this year. The special feature of this year’s parikrama is that we will spend two weeks in Vrindavan and two weeks in Mayapur. We are limiting the parikrama party to 300 devotees on a “first come, first serve” basis. So don’t delay!

The ecstatic news of the parikrama party heading to both Vrindavan and Mayapur fills the Devotees hearts with joy! To sign up for the Parikrama, please visit: https://www.indradyumnaswamiparikrama.com/Registration-Information

In another Facebook post, Indradyumna Swami meditated on the words of Srila Prabodhananda Saraswati, who is one of his favorite Acaryas to quote from.

“Sri Radhika, the lovely queen of Vrindavan’s bowerhouses, makes all spiritual goals and practices insignificant when She bestows upon one the festival of Her eternal service. In doing so, She inundates the whole world with news of Her nectarian beauty and Her face shines like innumerable autumnal moons.”

[ Srila Prabodhananda Saraswati, Sri Radha Rasa Sudhanidhi, verse 62 ]

All glories to Srimati Radharani!

A Blue Ridge Mountain Festival – Indradyumna Swami Nectar

A Blue Ridge Mountain Festival – Indradyumna Swami Nectar

Over 2,000 devotees gathered at the Art of Living Retreat Center in Boone, North Carolina,  for the Sadhu Sanga Kirtan retreat that His Holiness Indradyumna Swami organized with the help of his disciples. The kirtan event was attended by many disciples of A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada and kirtan leaders included Govinda Swami, Badahari das, Madhava Naidoo, Niranjana Swami, Vaisesika das, Jahnavi Harrison, Agnideva das (a surprise!), Indradyumna Swami, Radhanath Swami, and others.

At the retreat, bhakti yogas from all over America and some from overseas also came to chant the Holy Names of Krishna together in the huge kirtan hall. Between kirtans, the devotees could associate with one another, engage in service (like helping out in the kitchen), honor prasadam with friends and family, chant and dance together, and generally soak in the beautiful atmosphere and setting of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Books tables were set up outside the kirtan hall, so that devotees could buy books written by Sacinandana Swami, Vaisesika dasa, Indradyumna Swami, Radhanath Swami, and others. In the mornings, the devotees held a mangala arati program and had Guru-puja and Srimad Bhagavatam class before breakfast was served out.

Ananta Vrindavan das, one of Indradyumna Swami’s disciples captured the event in video and photography, as usual, and his album can be found here on his facebook page.

Writing about the huge event on Facebook, Indradyumna Swami wrote in a post:

The first 2 days of the Sadhu Sanga Sanga Retreat in the Blue Mountains of North Carolina were pure nectar. The reason? The festival is focused on chanting of the holy names and associating with devotees. An extra incentive: delicious prasadam for all 2,000 participants!

All glories to the devotees of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu! All glories to A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada! All glories to all the followers of Sri Rupa and Sri Sanatana Goswamis!

The Enthusiastic Devotees of Novosibirsk, Russia – Indradyumna Swami Nectar

The Enthusiastic Devotees of Novosibirsk, Russia – Indradyumna Swami Nectar

In a video describing Indradyumna Swami’s travels to Novosibirsk and Barnaul, Badahari das described the enthusiasm of the devotees in Novosibirsk in Siberia, Russia. He mentions that the city was founded by Czar Nicholas in 1893. During the 1940s in reaction to the war, because the city is quite far to the east, 50 major factories were packed up and moved to Novosibirsk and so it became a center for production for the Red Army. Over 140,000 refugees came to the city and now 1.6 million live there. It’s also a center for scientific research.

Badahari das mentions that the devotees came to the city in 1993 and established the first Hare Krsna Center. Now about 300 Devotees live there. They distributed 25,000 devotional books last year and have a very active Food for Life program. Badahari das mentions that the Devotees work so hard under difficult circumstances to spread Krsna Consciousness. Their dedication to Krsna Consciousness inspired His Holiness Indradyumna Swami, Badahari das, and Caturatma das. Badahari das mentioned that these devotees are the pioneers who are pushing Krishna Consciousness in this remote corner of the world in these difficult circumstances. Of the devotees, he said:

They’re very kind and loving. We always are very moved by the receptions that we get here and the appreciation of the devotees. So even though it’s a little difficult traveling in this part of the world, we feel very inspired to see Srila Prabhupada’s going on in such a wonderful way. And to me–Such great souls, such great pure devotees of the Lord. Thank you Srila Prabhupada for this opportunity to serve. Hare Krishna.

In a facebook post describing the visit to these two cities, Indradyumna Swami wrote:

Despite the austerities we underwent traveling in Siberia at the end of winter, we will gladly return!

Indradyumna Swami said in a video last week that Srila Prabhupada really set the standard in this regard. Prabhupada visited Moscow in the early 1970’s and that seed has just gone on to grow into a beautiful tree producing so many fruits and flowers of beautiful Devotees.

In several Facebook posts, Indradyumna Swami recounts the sweetness of his ongoing Russian tour.

The excerpt above came from a video on Indradyumna Swami’s facebook page. On Indradyumna Swami’s official Youtube Channel, you can find a lecture Indradyumna Swami delivered in Novosibirsk. One of the kirtans Indradyumna Swami led there is available also on Youtube.

Special Mercy of Radha Raman – Indradyumna Swami Nectar

Special Mercy of Radha Raman – Indradyumna Swami Nectar

“On the kind invitation of Pundrik Goswami, of the Radha Raman temple in Vrindavan, we have been invited to participate in his week long service to the famous deity of Radha Raman. Today we participated in a parade through town and many arotikas in the temple. We had the honor to lead kirtan in front of Radha Raman and take full prasadam from His plate. Participating in the seva this week is a unique opportunity, for in the early days of our movement Srila Prabhupada often encouraged his disciples to learn deity worship from the Radha Raman temple. One special mercy was that I had darshan ( from a distance ) of a Govardhan-sila worshipped by Gopal Bhatta Goswami. We thank our spiritual master, Srila Prabhupada, for gradually revealing to us the glories of this transcendental abode.”

Enchanting pastimes of Kamyavan – Verse quoted by Indradyumna Swami

“In this Kamyavan Krishna performed enchanting pastimes. Here you will be able to take darsana of many Kundas and other holy places. I cannot even describe in writing all the sacred tirthas found at Kamyavan.”

“It is reciprocal”

– Srila Prabhupada quoted by Indradyumna Swami

“You cannot survive without my mercy and I cannot survive without your mercy. It is reciprocal. This mutual dependence is based on love – Krishna consciousness.”

Running

“You all came running” – Anecdote recounted by Indradyumna Swami

“You all came running” – Anecdote recounted by Indradyumna Swami

In appreciation of the service rendered by his disciples, Srila Prabhupada once said that his guru maharaja, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati, had sent them to help him in his preaching mission.

One disciple spoke up and said, “But Srila Prabhupada how could that be? We were so sinful before we met you.”

Srila Prabhupada replied, “That is superficial. As soon as you heard the chanting of Hare Krsna you all came running!”

Now I Truly Understand – Excerpt from the Jaladuta Diary Quoted by Indradyumna Swami

Now I Truly Understand – Excerpt from the Jaladuta Diary Quoted by Indradyumna Swami

“Today the ship is plying very smoothly. I feel today better. But I am feeling separation from Sri Vrindaban and my Lords Sri Govinda, Gopinath, Radha Damodar. My only solace is Sri Chaitanya Charitamrita in which I am tasting the nectarine of Lord Chaitanya’s lila. I have left Bharatabhumi just to execute the order of Sri Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati, in pursuance of Lord Chaitanya’s order. I have no qualification, but have taken up the risk just to carry out the order of His Divine Grace. I depend fully on Their mercy, so far away from Vrindaban.
